Learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience.
David A. Kolb
I have a passion for teaching and creating opportunities to learn through direct experience. Over the past 15 years, I have had the pleasure of offering educational and experiential events, locally and nationally, to mental health professionals, yoga teachers, and community members.
As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I offer 1 – 1 ½ hr informational sessions to professionals interested in learning more about Somatic Experiencing (SE). Additionally, I offer the 3 hr Basics training for folks interested in learning more about SE and the professional training program.
In the yoga community, I offer workshops to teachers in training as well as veteran yoga teachers on understanding the impact of trauma on the brain and the body and how to create a trauma informed yoga class experience.
As a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga – Facilitator, I offer a half day workshop for mental health professionals or community members about this evidence-based treatment for PTSD and trauma symptoms.
I have partnered with community organizations looking for educational and experiential learning about trauma, polyvagal theory, and somatic practices.
Some examples of previous workshops:
Somatic Interventions: Pathways of Possibility
Trauma Informed Yoga: Creating a Safe Space for Embodiment
Clear Boundaries Clear Speech
Honoring Limits: How to Navigate Boundaries Between Teachers and Students
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to explore how I could create a workshop or training for your group.
